 HISTORY:

The Pocket Internet Explorer (PIE)was introduced in Windows CE version 1.0 which was released in November 1996. It didn’t derive its code from the Internet Explorer but it was written from scratch to make it as light weight as possible. The latter version supported cookies, HTTP and SSL.

COMMON ERRORS OF INTERNET EXPLORER 9

Posted by thuong123  Published in errors, issues

Internet Explorer is the widely used browser that was introduced by MICROSOFT. Despite of all the accuracies the Internet explorer still encounters some problems. Some of the problems are mentioned as follows:

  1. 52  RUNTIME  ERROR: This error is directly related to the Javascript that refers to a bad filename or number. It means that the specified file or webpage was not found by the script. Sometimes this error happens due to internet connectivity problem.

SOLUTION: To solve this problem we can clear the temporary internet files still if the problem persists then the problem may be related to the website’s server.

  1. 400 BAD FILE REQUEST:  This error occurs due to input of incorrect URL by the user, like we unknowingly use uppercase letters while specifying a URL rather than lower case letters and sometimes use of incorrect punctuation causes this error.

SOLUTION: While specifying URL we should recheck whether we have specified the correct URL or not.

  1. 401 UNAUTHORISED: This error occurs when the server of a specified website is looking for encryption key or keys from the client (that’s your computer). It also takes place when a wrong password has been entered.

SOLUTION: We should pay attention to the case sensitivities whether it is upper case or lower case.

  1. 403 FORBIDDEN/ ACCESS DENIED:

This happens when the server is not able to locate the file that’s requested by the user or the file could have been moved or deleted. It also happens when the URL is misspelled or entered wrongly.

SOLUTION: We should try again by refreshing the page or check for correct URL.

  1. 408 REQUEST TIMEOUT: This usually takes place when the servers are slow and the file size is large. It happens when the client( your computer) stops the request midway and the server has completed retrieving it.

SOLUTION : Let the page be loaded completely before cancelling the request that has been sent already to the server.

  1. 500 INTERNAL ERROR: This happens when the server cannot retrieve the HTML document properly.

SOLUTION: We need to contact the website administrator for this.

  1. 502 SERVICE TEMPORARILY OVERLOADED: This happens when there is congestion in server due to many connections and high traffic in networks. This happens basically during peak hours when a server has to process loads of requests at one time.

SOLUTION: Keep trying in an interval of 15 mins until the page loads.

  1. 503 SERVICE UNAVAILABLE: This happens when the site is moved or when the server is busy, sometimes it happens when the user has lost internet connectivity.

SOLUTION: Try connecting internet again.

  1. CONNECTION REFUSED BY HOST: This happens when the user doesn’t have the permission to access the website or when a wrong password has been entered.

SOLUTION: Recheck the password entered.

  1. FAILED DNS LOOKUP: It happens when the Domain request specified cannot be translated by the Domain Name Server into a valid Internet address. It is also happens when the website’s server is busy.

SOLTUION: Check whether the correct URL  has been entered or not.
